Storybook Camp for kids

July 29-August 2, 2024, 9:00AM-1:00PM

At Storybook Camp, campers (ages 8-12) will jump into the world of storytelling, exploring their favorite stories, as well as coming up with ones of their own! Throughout the week, campers will craft their own books, create their own characters and worlds, and write stories. Other craft projects, nature walks, and scene acting will also be a part of this immersive class.

Become an Author: Write Your Book Today

May 9-June 6, 2024, 6:30-8:00PM

Everyone has a book inside of them waiting to be written. In this series, attendees will learn the elements of writing effective mystery, romance, and science fiction/fantasy novels, as well as delving into the world of nonfiction. Each class will discuss the qualities of successful books in the genre, as well as give attendees important advice for writing, editing, and publishing.

Writing a Book - for Teens

June 4-July 9, 2024, 6:30-7:30PM

Attendees will be introduced to the world of storytelling, learning the various aspects necessary to writing a great book! Week one focuses on developing interesting, believable characters, and then subsequent weeks focus on creating worlds for the characters; writing a compelling plot and story; composing quality dialogue; and putting it all together, which will cover next steps in the writing process like editing and getting your book published.

*Attendees who sign up for the whole series will also be given the opportunity to receive editorial feedback on their work.
